Privacy
ansicode is a static reference site. The privacy story is short.
Cookies
We do not set any cookies. The theme toggle stores a single value ("light" / "dark") in your browser's localStorage; this never leaves your device.
Tracking & analytics
We do not run any analytics. No first-party or third-party tracking scripts are loaded.
Decoder
The on-page decoder (/decode) runs entirely in your browser. Input text is never transmitted off your device.
Network
The site is served via Cloudflare. Cloudflare logs request metadata (IP, user agent, referrer) for the purpose of operating its network and protecting against abuse, as described in its public documentation.
What Cloudflare logs at the edge
We don't operate our own analytics, but the CDN edge that serves these pages keeps a short-lived request log so it can run the network and surface abuse. Cloudflare's default tier captures the following fields per HTTP request:
- Request timestamp (UTC)
- Client IP address
- Requested URL (path + query string)
- HTTP method (GET, HEAD, etc.)
- Response status code
- Response byte count
- User-Agent header
- Cloudflare Ray ID (per-request trace identifier)
- Country code (geo-IP-derived)
We have not enabled Logpush, Workers Analytics Engine, or any other log-destination — these fields stay inside Cloudflare's default short-retention edge logs and are not forwarded anywhere we control. No request bodies, response bodies, or decoder input are written to any log.
Changes
If we ever add ads or analytics, this page will be updated and the change will appear in the public Git history.
